Dr. Vemulapalli is originally from Ohio and obtained his MD after completing a combined BS-MD
program at Kent State University and NEOUCOM. He completed an internship in General Surgery at
Vanderbilt University Medical Center and received additional training in General Surgery at
Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He then completed a residency in Urology at the
University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and went on to perform a fellowship in Urologic
Oncology at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
Dr. Vemulapalli is Chief of the section of Urologic Oncology and is a member of the OU Cancer
Institute. His clinical expertise is in the surgical and medical treatment of cancer involving
the adrenal gland, kidney, bladder, prostate and testicles. He received specialized training
while at UCLA to provide the most cutting edge and effective cancer treatments for his patients.
Dr. Vemulapalli is also actively involved in
clinical trials for the treatment of cancer and participates in basic science and translational
research in hopes of discovering future cancer cures.
Dr. Vemulapalli is Board certified by the American Board of Urology. In addition, he is a member
of several organizations dedicated to the care of patients with cancer including, the Society of
Urologic Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research,
National Cancer Institute, and the Southwest Oncology Group. Other memberships include the American
Urological Association, Endourological Society, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the American
Association of Clinical Urologists.
